Training Support Staff

Training Support Assistants are vital in supporting the safe and smooth delivery of on-water sessions. You will assist instructors, students, and visitors both onshore and on the water, including launching and recovering dinghies, crewing safety boats, maintaining communication, and supporting positive learning experiences in a friendly, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with launching, recovering, and managing dinghies and equipment.
- Crew safety boats as required to support sessions.
- Provide shore-based support during sailing sessions.
- Maintain radio communication with instructors and safety boats afloat.
- Assist with equipment setup and issue, maintaining tidy and well-organised storage and activity areas.
- Liaise with students, parents, and visitors, ensuring a positive experience.
- Support instructors in preparing for and delivering safe, engaging sessions.
- Help maintain accurate session logs and comply with RYA standards and centre safety procedures.
- Help effectively resolve any issues that arise during sessions.
Qualifications
Essential
- RYA Powerboat Level 2
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and able to work in a busy, active environment.
- Enhanced DBS check (to be arranged by RWYC)
Desirable
- A working understanding of RYA training and session delivery
- RYA Safety Boat (training available)
- Appropriate in-date first aid certificate (training available)
- RYA Safe & Fun (training available)
