Seasonal Dinghy Instructors

We’re looking for enthusiastic RYA Dinghy Instructors to deliver safe, fun, and high-quality sailing instruction to learners of all ages and abilities. You’ll inspire confidence on the water, provide tailored coaching, and support the development of participants. Working as part of a friendly, professional team, you’ll help ensure sessions run smoothly, safely, and efficiently while creating memorable experiences for every participant.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver dinghy courses and sessions in line with the RYA syllabuses.
• Provide clear instruction, feedback, and guidance tailored to individual learners.
• Ensure the safety, welfare, and enjoyment of all participants.
• Prepare and check boats and equipment before, during, and after sessions.
• Collaborate closely with support staff, and fellow instructors to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient session delivery.
• Maintain compliance with and uphold RYA standards and centre procedures.
• Represent the centre professionally to students, parents, visitors, and members, providing excellent customer service.
• Maintain accurate session records, including attendance, equipment maintenance, and incident logs.

Qualifications

Essential

• RYA Dinghy Instructor
• RYA Powerboat Level 2
• Appropriate in-date first aid certificate
• RYA Safe & Fun (training available)
• Enhanced DBS check (to be arranged by RWYC)

Desirable

• RYA Safety Boat (training available)
• RYA Race Coach
• RYA Advanced Instructor
