RWYC Late Autumn Catch Up Series 2020
Now the last holiday weekend of sailing is over and our time on the water this year has been limited, it has been decided to provide an opportunity to catch up on racing with an enjoyable event of 9 days of great sailing from 4th October to 29th November. To ensure the enjoyment does not stop on the water, effort will be going into ensuring Après sailing off water facilities and activities contributes to the days pleasure.
To ensure we race in the best the day has to offer, timings will be communicated to all competitors by 5.30pm the Saturday before the Sunday. Racing could commence anytime between 10.30am to 2.00pm on the Sunday, depending on anticipated wind condition. If the worst come to the worst and it is predicted to blow old boots or no chance of any wind, the racing might be cancelled for the day.
There will be two races per day, with fast and slow fleet starts. Class racing, if numbers allow, will have both handicap and class results within each fleet. It is hoped that time spent on the water is spent racing, with the minimum of delay between going on to the water, the back to back races and returning ashore. There will be 18 races with 10 to count and spot prizes throughout the event.
Once ashore hot snacks will be supplied for competitors. This is included in a small entry charge of £1 per person taking part per day, double handed boats pay £2, on the day you sail.
The event is for dinghies and Flying Fifteens only, with number being limited and offered to Club members first, then offered to other clubs, should numbers allow. Can you please send the following information to myself on the email address below prior to Saturday 12 September, if you intend to participate.

You will be required to indicate the day before racing if you intend to participate to ensure catering can be organised. Sailing instructions and further details will be supplied shortly.
If you won’t be racing, but want to join in on the fun, we will require a strong team to help with race duty and safety boats. This is because we will potentially be starting and finishing races at the same time, so any volunteers will be much appreciated.
Looking forward to receive a flood of entries.
