In aid of the RNLI


RWYC are organising a Handicap Race in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute

The Race will be called the “Peter Glaister RNLI Trophy”. There will be three races run back to back. The Fleets will be dependent upon the amount of entries. Dinghies, All keelboats, (Cruisers, Flying Fifteens and Windermere 17’s)

The Fleets to compete for prizes, 1st, 2nd and 3rd places as well as overall winner for the “Peter Glaister RNLI Trophy

The date is Saturday 17th July 2021. The place is Lake Windermere.

The race will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the National Authority when they apply, the rules of each class concerned, the sailing instructions and any other applicable rules.

Any sailing boat can race. The start and finish time of each boat shall be recorded and the handicap will be determined by the Portsmouth Yardstick System. If none exists for the boat, then the Race Committee shall assign one. (This includes all Cruisers) Scoring will be Low Point System.

Registration Entry Forms are available from the organising club’s web site. The races will start at approximately 12.00 hrs. The Entry cost is at least £10.00p per boat and £5.00 for boats with helms/crews of 14 years old or under. All proceeds will go to the RNLI.

All entrants will have membership of the RWYC for the day. There will be a Prize-giving  & a BBQ at extra cost early evening after the race, at the RWYC clubhouse. Details are on the Registration Entry Form.
