MARCH 2022 COMMODORE’S NEWSLETTER

Dear Members,                                                                                                                    1st March 2022

It has been good to see Members starting to use the Club during February and Social Events and the Carvery were all well attended.    During January and February Michele Kay started a RWYC Ladies Walking Group which is proving very popular.  Her forthcoming walk is on Sunday, 6th March.

2022 Membership Subscription Invoices:

Your Membership and Boat Parking Invoices will be arriving during March.  As mentioned in the February Newsletter, the 2021 Subscriptions covered us all until the 1st April 2022.

Access to RWYC Clubhouse:

Winter hours are still in operation.  If the Bar is shut, access is gained by using your Gate Card.  If you wish to have a coffee, remember to bring your change of money with you.

Terrace Update:

The Terrace Project is still ongoing and efforts are being made to reduce the costs.  A small committee chaired by the Hon. Ops. Secretary met in February to evaluate ways in which the specification could be reduced whilst still maintaining the increase in storage space and the excellent amenity area that this would create.

The Contract Drawings both Architectural and Engineering are being amended and a new Tender List is being drawn up, with the target of re-tendering in May/June.  Hopefully the market conditions may be more favourable this time.

For all Social Events, please book in with Zoe and support them.
