Introduction from RWYC Chief Instructor, Callum Thompson
Dear Members,
I would like to introduce myself to you.
My name is Callum Thompson and I am your new RYA Chief Instructor.
We now have firm dates and information about summer sailing courses available here and are offering youth sail training sessions on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, bookable here. Both of these are open to new and experienced sailors alike.
Additionally, we are now offering bespoke youth and adult sailing courses for all levels from Learn to Sail, right through to Advanced and Race training, as well as own boat tuition.
Furthermore, with the weather improving we will now be restarting Powerboat courses, including Powerboat Level 2 and Safety Boat.
New for this year, we are introducing Shorebased courses at the club, including RYA First Aid and Marine Radio, available both in person and online, through the RYA Interactive portal.
More information and booking for these course is available by filling in the form on the website or by contacting the training team at [email protected].
To support the delivery of our sail training, we are looking for willing volunteers, both sailors and safety boat drivers. Experienced sailors will have the opportunity to complete the Assistant Instructor qualification at the club, free of charge and all volunteers with be supported to build their experience during the season. For more information or to register your interest, please email [email protected] with the subject ‘Training Volunteering’ or ‘Assistant Instructor’.
I look forward to seeing you around the club and on the water,
Callum Thompson
