INTRODUCTION LETTER FROM NICHOLAS C. AUBREY
(COMMODORE FROM SUNDAY, 14TH NOVEMBER 2021)
Dear Members,
I hope you are all keeping well at these difficult and strange times with Covid-19; terrible storms and loss of power, dominating our headlines.
I feel very honoured as, on Remembrance Day, Sunday 14th November 2021, I was made the Commodore of the Royal Windermere Yacht Club. I will hold this position for one year.
At this point in my message, I would also like to wish Chris Ducker, who is our Vice Commodore and J.R. Richardson, our Rear Commodore, all the very best in their roles this year and good luck when each of them, in the future, become the Commodore.
My thanks go to all of our Members for their continued support of the Royal Windermere Yacht Club. I would also especially like to thank Nigel Tullett who did a fantastic job as our Commodore. We are fortunate that previous members have left us with the Club House as it is today.
The Club has organised some great social events which you can view on the Website. These commence with Canapes Evening Friday, 17th December; Boxing Day Lunch Sunday 26th December; New Year’s Eve Friday 31st December 2021, and, a new venture, “Untethered”, which is a Live Band, on the 13th January 2022 and will cost £10 per head. Bring your friends. Contact Zoe Broughton to book in for all events.
Hopefully, Covid-19 and the terrible storms, won’t upset our plans for social functions in the near future. I urge you to view our Website whenever possible and where possible, book yourselves in to attend Friday nights’ meals and further social functions during 2022.
Finally and in advance, I wish you and your families all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and let us hope our plans for sailing in the forthcoming season will not be interrupted by worldwide things going wrong.
Best wishes
From
Nick
