1st Pennant Weekend Update
Royal Windermere Yacht Club Pennant Weekend
Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th June
Good morning everyone
This weekend is the first of the two new pennant weekends to be held at the club this year. The easiest way to describe a pennant weekend is, “it’s an open meeting style of event for club members (on the water)”.
Following sailing we have an array of evening entertainment set for you. When you return from sailing we will have music on the balcony, Fish and Chips at 6.15pm and then a tribute band to Fleetwood Mac at 7.30pm.
The cost of this is £15.00 per person, for both your fish and chips and the band. Anyone attending please can you book your tickets online here: https://www.royal-windermere.
It is really important that you book your tickets through the link, so we can work out numbers and if we need to order more Fish & Chips.
The evening entertainment is open to non members / your friends, please bring them down and show them how good the club is, please note they will also have to pay £15.00.
Key Timings for the weekend
Saturday
10.30 – 11.30 Registration, collect your sailing instructions, meal tickets for the weekend
11.30 am Course meeting and weekend instructions
12.55 First warning signal, the fleets will run in this order:
Juniors
Handicap Fleet
Cruisers
17ft Fleet
F15 Fleet
We will be aiming for 3 races Saturday & 3 Sunday.
18.15 Fish & Chips from the Spit and Crackle van in the carpark
19.30 McFleetwood Tribute Band
Sunday
11.00 am – Course Meeting
11.55 am First Warning Signal, the fleets will run in this order:
Juniors
Handicap Fleet
Cruisers
17ft Fleet
- F15 Fleet
After sailing there will be a prize giving at the club for all fleets that have taken park.
What happens if there is no wind?
If any of you have paddle boards etc. please bring them down and we organize some fun events.
**** Car parking – Important ****
THERE WILL BE NO PARKING IN FRONT OF THE HEDGE ON SATURDAY AS YOU DRIVE IN. IF ANYONE DOSE PARK THERE THEN THERE WILL BE NO FISH AND CHIPS FOR ANYONE!!!!!!!
