Adult Squad update from Nigel Happy Bank Holiday Weekend,…
Happy Bank Holiday Weekend,…
Now,…. a big thank-you to all involved in quietly and carefully getting the Club back on it’s feet,... there is a long way to go,… be patient,.. not a Patient,.. it won’t last forever,…
………… to be blunt I see no chance of an Adult Squad meeting for quite a long time yet,… so hold your horses,…. there are no Club boats and no Club rescue… so if you have your own boat that might be OK,.. but think first as to the weather, your capabilities, possibly putting pressure onto outside agencies,.. who else is out on the water,… etc., etc.,… if you have to think about it at all, then probably you shouldn’t go….. there might come a time when, if you are a pair,.. we might get you out in a Bahia,..and we can use single handers,… but it won’t/can’t happen ’til we have Escort ... I am sure that that is being thought about,.. but it is tricky,… and I guess some way off just yet,… it is only May still,.. so as I say, be patient,… ( and it is really annoying that I have met a youngish couple across the road who are interested in finding out about sailing and there is nothing I can do about it!)
I have been out twice,.. in my Solo,.. and I am sorry to tell you, but it was fantastic to be sailing,… It wasn’t so good being shouted at by some Staveley person, near Plantation Bridge, as I towed the boat to the Club,.. I was clearly being told to ‘GO HOME’… though I couldn’t hear the words due to the rattling trailer, I could see the veins standing out on the person’s temples,.. I wasn’t able to stop and explain,…!!…
So,.. see you at some point,… but, in the meantime, please help me clean up my email list,….
all the very best,…
