Fleet Captain..  Nigel Tullett

Secretary.. Clare Houlihan

The F15 fleet at RWYC continues to grow, being the 3rd largest fleet in the country and currently holding 25 boats. We dry sail with the aid of a launching tractor which removes the hard work of ‘hauling out’ at the end of a race. The fleet race Saturdays and Sundays using mobile starts, from April until the end of October and have their own ‘Open ‘event every year racing over two days .  We have our own Classic F15 fleet; those with boat numbers below 3500 who race for monthly trophies, but the whole fleet sail together.
The fleet is a hardy bunch, who venture on to the lake in most conditions where other fleets would opt out. The club is based in Bowness bay which gives us the advantage of sailing in either the South or North Lake, wind depending. We have helms and crews of advancing years who really do put their ‘mark’ on the prize-winners list along with the younger fleet members who show them much respect for their determination.

We are very proud to have Flying 15 past World Champions, Steve Goacher and Phil Evans in the fleet who share their expertise with racing tactics and rigging advice.

There is camaraderie amongst the fleet but competitiveness on the water.
F15 visitors will always be made very welcome.
