This year we are running the Oppie courses over 4 weeks.
Each course will consist of a 3 hour session (either morning or afternoon) each day over the 5 days.
This is an introduction to dinghy sailing for juniors who are around 10 years of age, using a small fleet of 6 Oppies and under the supervision of an RYA instructor.
The aim is to provide a fun/learning event with participants achieving RYA Youth Sailing Scheme certificates at levels 1, 2, or 3.
Applicants will be split by age and experience with the courses structured accordingly. Buoyancy aids can be provided for these courses.
Fee £80 per person.
Laser Pico Courses.
These courses are for the more experienced juniors who wish to progress to higher levels. This year the boats provided will again be Laser Picos – a fun to sail, single-handed dinghy. Again it is hoped to have morning and afternoon sessions of 3 hours with applicants divided by age and ability.
Fee £85 per person.
Adult Lesson
This year we hope to run an evening course for adults in the Laser Picos. Email your interest.
SPECIAL NOTES
All courses are supervised by fully qualified RYA instructors.
Mirror Dinghies must be insured in accordance with RWYC rules.
Whilst afloat buoyancy aids must be worn at all times.
Trainees should always bring a change of clothes.
The programme is subject to amendment.
All participants need to be either full junior members or temporary members of RWYC.
Parents are expected to spend one day assisting the instructors.
Bookings from existing RWYC members will take priority until 1st May 2010.
